Classic And Interesting Alien Encounter Novel

By Brian Robinson

People are always the heroes or main characters in novels on alien invasion. It is rare to find a serious alien encounter novel that tackles the struggle between animals or birds from different planets. In most cases, the plots are about retaliation after attack, missions that encounter aliens or defense during attacks. The heroes have a responsibility of protecting their world and people from enslavement.

Enders Game is the work of Scott Orson and hit the shelves in 1985. When the book was being released, most people knew very little about space compared to what is known today. The classic sci-fi release remains popular today because of the violent encounters and heroism by the children involved. The children are attacked when training at a space station. It has won both the Nebula and Hugo awards.

The release of Starship Trooper in 1959 was a response to criticism directed towards the author because of his views on government nuclear program. It was also written in between other books at the height of nuclear dialogue in the world. Heinlein managed to keep away attacks because of his creative and classic story.

Childhood Ends could have been inspired by the fact that there were numerous blimps that floated over London during WWII. It is a narrative of friendly invaders who help to end all wars in the world. This creates a utopia world ruled by a single government. The mysterious Overlords governed the earth from a space craft. The problem arises when they refuse to disclose more information about their origin.

The War of Worlds sits pretty on top of the pile of pioneer foreign invasion books. It is sometimes regarded as a scientific fiction novel. Written in 1898, the author finds it painful and eccentric to destroy his neighborhood. He, however seems to enjoy this. In a letter to his friend, obliterating his neighborhood is a very satisfying exercise. It is a thriller despite being centuries old.

The Mote in Gods Eye is a bit futuristic despite being released in 1974. This book is set in 3016, an era ruled by The Second Empire of Man. Man uses Anderson Drive, a supersonic ship to operate from thousands of stars. It is all calm with no worry about extra-terrestrial life until a ship on mission comes back with the body of a dead alien. This is the beginning of an interesting expedition that is fascinating to readers.

Spin is a sci-fi marvel that incorporates recent space discoveries in its narrative. This is why the book has gained traction with readers today. The first scene features a boy observing the sky with fascination. This is after man conquered the moon and sun but cannot explain the tides. Creative ingenuity helps Robert Wilson to capture the attention of the reader in this book released in 2006.

The Day of Triffids is the 1951 work of Wyndham John. It remains an outstanding title among the post-apocalyptic titles. A large part of the world population goes blind after a comet shower. The responsibility to run the world now rests with the few who can still see. They also have triffids, some mobile and carnivorous weeds, to fight.
