Why None Dare Call It Treason Trump

By Arthur Burns

There is no doubt that the 2016 presidential election in the United States will forever stand out in history, although many today would argue about how people will remember it. Although supporters of the current Commander in Chief would say otherwise, it seems inevitable that collusion with Russia will be the defining factor of this president and his election. Why none dare call it treason Trump is a complicated question, and takes a fair amount of legal knowledge to understand what that actually means.

Disloyalty comes in many forms, and there are a number of different words for it. However, in legal terminology, word choice is everything, and it can make all the difference for what a particular crime actually is. The crime of treason is specifically when a person levies war against the United States, so it means colluding with a country that they are at war with. These are very specific requirements.

With the pace of today's news, it is hard to keep up with everything for those who do not have time to take a lot of time every day to read the news, and it can be easy to be distracted. People who are in showbusiness are well-versed in certain tricks of the trade, one of them being the art of distraction. The current president's tendency to bring up irrelevant issues to draw attention away from greater ones that are going on in his administration has been one of the tactics in play.

When individuals are pitted against each other in such situations as a political election, it is quite common for both parties to conduct research to give them an advantage over the other party. It is when that information comes from outside of the country that this becomes more questionable, as what has happened in this case.

The timeline of events that occurred regarding the information that has surfaced about the current administration's involvement with Russia begins on June 9th, 2016. This was when the first official meeting that could be confirmed happened, and it put Jared Kushner, Donald Jr., and Paul Manafort all in a difficult position. The revelation that they met with a Kremlin emissary was big news because prior to that, the administration had assured the public that no such meeting had happened.

After the June meeting was confirmed to have occurred, the administration shifted its claims by saying that the meeting happened but it was not successful. It is hard to tell if this is true or not because of the previous mistruths of the administration. Therefore, further examination of these claims has continued.

Since the news emerged about the meeting, Donald Jr. Was forced to reveal his emails. The messages that were reviewed did not show that the meeting was unsuccessful. Therefore, the investigation is ongoing.

One of the suspicious things about the Trump boys' recollection of the events surrounding the meeting and the emails that relate to it is the difference in their versions of the story. This is usually a sign that one or both of the people are lying. Time will most likely tell what the true version of events is.
