The Different Kinds Of Exotic Hats Today

By Charles Murray

Aside from technology advancing nowadays, also our clothing style is advancing. Each decade represents a certain kind of clothing style. In the seventies, the hippies wore those pants that widens at the end and have those flower crowns. For the eighties, parachute pants, jean jackets and high top shoes were the trend. Nineties had a baggy outfit like having large shirts. It has all evolved including our head pieces. So let us take a look on the exotic hats in the future, present and past.

Before it became a fashion trend, these are used to cover our heads from the heat of the sun or getting easily wet from rainfall. Nowadays, the purpose of them is not even used anymore. These are worn just because it goes well with how one looks and not because they really even need it.

Now when you hear the word exotic, it is defined to be originating from a certain country. And when this word is used, it brings an interest to our minds because it is something new and you just discovered it now. It brings an interest because it is not native to where you are living.

We all know Frank Sinatra and that he is a legend in the music industry. Michael Buble is even a certain musician who is following his footsteps like a younger version of him. Sinatra has this gentleman look usually. That look is wearing a blazer and the famous fedora, one example of that head piece. Most gentlemen are wearing this but it also evolved to be used in informal occasions.

When you ask a child to draw a French person, they would either draw him carrying French bread or the typical clothes that they wear. The typical look is a handkerchief on the neck, long sleeved shirt with stripes as a design and the beret. The beret is that round shaped cap usually black and has a short vertical object sticking out at the center.

A typical Asian top piece is those that have a cone shape. What makes them unique from the beret and fedora is the material that is used. Asian cone hats are usually made up of straw because that is what is being harvested there in their country.

Religion might be a reason to why one is wearing a certain top piece instead of fashion. These are the turbans for Muslim men and the Hijab for Muslim women. They are sacred practices in generations in their country. They are used to cover, protect what they think should not be exposed.

There are a lot more hats out there. The fez from the Middle East, war bonnets by the Native Americans, the bowler that Charlie Chaplin wore, a tam used by some Dreadlocked hair people, the kufi from Africa, the Ushanka in Russia, sombreros by Mexicans and hundreds more. Each country and continent has their own style of head piece.

You might want to have a hobby and start collecting all. They are more than just souvenirs but they are a culture. An each of those signifies an important culture that the place has. That item can tell countless of stories and memories that will live on forever.
